Soulstone Survivors Wiki

Skill Chain is a mechanic in Soulstone Survivors that allows certain skills to automatically cast other specific skills in a predefined sequence. These chained casts are triggered immediately after the original skill is cast, functioning as an extension of the skill rather than an independent action.

When a skill chain is active, the follow-up skill is cast without consuming cooldowns or being restricted by normal cooldown timers. The chained skill behaves as if it were cast normally, applying all associated effects, buffs, or debuffs, and can multicast. However, chained casts cannot trigger other chains or effects like Chaotic Chaotic, making their behavior predictable and contained.

Mechanics[]

  • The Skill Chain requires the player to have both participating skills in their active loadout.
  • Each skill chain is predefined, for example, a SwingType Swing skill may chain into a ThrustType Thrust skill if both are equipped.
  • The triggered skill has its cast animation and effects but does not reset or affect its own cooldown.
  • The chaining only happens once per cast and cannot chain recursively or trigger Chaotic Chaotic.
  • Only the first cast in a multicast sequence can trigger the skill chain.
  • If the skill chain chance is above 100%, a skill cast will chain to an extra skill.

Skills with base cooldown longer than 8 seconds do not have their Skill Chain card appeared. See excluded skills.

Powers[]

Skill Chain-related powers can appear during level-up and are available in three rarities: Rare, Epic, and Legendary. These powers grant a bonus chance for one skill to automatically trigger another skill of a specific type, forming a skill chain.

  • Rare: Grants a +6% chance to chain.
  • Epic: Grants a +8% chance to chain.
  • Legendary: Grants a +10% chance to chain.

These powers are categorized under synergy upgrades and require specific skill combinations to appear. For example, having two SwingType Swing-type skills may allow a SwingType SwingThrustType Thrust chain upgrade to be rolled.

However, it should be noted that equipping the SynergeticIcon Synergetic rune does not enhance access to these powers nor increasing the chance for chain-related upgrades. Synergetic only affects effect chaining powers, like Poison PoisonBleed Bleed, etc.
