In Soulstone Survivors, every active skill is categorized into one or more Skill Types, which determine how it interacts with various powers, synergies, and modifiers. Skill types affect how skills scale, what buffs or effects apply to them, and which bonuses or runes enhance their behavior. Understanding these classifications is essential for optimizing a character's build and taking full advantage of available synergies. There are currently 27 unique Skill types.

Skill Types[]

Each skill may belong to several types at once. These types are grouped into three major subcategories:

Primary Types[]

Primary types represent the thematic or elemental nature of the skill. These types are used to define affinities, influence rune availability, and enable specialized damage bonuses.

ArcaneType Arcane Magical skills often associated with projectiles, beams, or buffs like Radiance Radiance.
BlastType Blast Associated with gunshot and detonation, often grants the Ammunition Ammunition effect.
BombType Bomb Deployable or delayed explosion skills, frequently inflicting status effects like Bleed Bleed.
ChaosType Chaos Unpredictable skills that combine random effects or spread debuffs in unusual ways. Often apply Disarray Disarray and possess Chaotic Chaotic trait.
EarthType Earth Heavy, impactful skills tied to terrain and debuffs like Brittle Brittle. Often gain Colossal Colossal.
ElectricType Electric Fast, high-frequency attacks that often apply Dazed Dazed to enemies.
FireType Fire Damage-over-time focused skills that frequently apply Burn Burn.
HolyType Holy Divine and healing-aligned abilities, applying PurityStatus Purity or supporting allies.
IceType Ice Slowing or freezing skills that control enemy movement and apply Slow Slow.
NatureType Nature Poison-themed or creature-based attacks often linked to Poison Poison and status spread.
ProjectileType Projectile Skills that launch fast-moving objects toward targets, often gain Aptitude Aptitude
ShadowType Shadow Dark magic abilities that apply Doom Doom or other lethal delayed effects.
SlamType Slam Ground-based or high-impact melee strikes with wide reach, often offer buffs like Resilience Resilience and Prowess Prowess.
SwingType Swing Broad arc or sweeping melee attacks used in close combat. Often gain Bulwark Bulwark.
ThrustType Thrust Narrow, directional melee attacks that stab or pierce enemies directly in front with short cooldown attack. Often gain Haste Haste.

Extra Types[]

Extra types define the behavior or delivery method of the skill, such as its range, duration, or direction. These are critical for powers and runes that affect skill mechanics rather than damage element.

Extra Type Description
Area Skills that affect a large region.
Aura Skills that effect a region outward from you.
Burst High-damage output skills delivered in a short time window.
Empowering Skills that provide buffs to yourself or allies when cast.
Frontal Skills that activate in a cone or line directly in front of the player.
Lasting Skills that remain on the battlefield for a duration, such as totems or zones.
Missile Guided or arcing projectiles that often track enemies.
Static Stationary effects or skills that do not move once cast.
Summon Skills that summon temporary entities like minions, totems to fight for the player.
Secret Rare skill types that unlocked via hidden achievements.

Damage Types[]

These define the calculation method for how a skill deals damage. Some powers only enhance one type, and enemies may resist or take extra damage from one or the other.
